With recent album Brute “an interesting and rewarding album that grows with each listen”, it is exciting to here that Fatima Al Qadiri has announced her upcoming travels to our shores.

For her Australian live debut Al Qadiri will play two intimate club shows, one on the 10th of June at Melbourne’s Howler and the other on the 11th of June at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney as part of BBE’s Winter Weekender.

A musician, composer and visual artist, the Kuwait-raised Al Qadiri is one of the most exciting talents within the industry who draws from her experiences during the Gulf War and the current global political climate to create conceptually driven electronica.

“I feel like my method of music making is narrative,” she told The Fader in an 2014 interview for album Asiatisch. “That’s why some of my records have been described as concept albums. No, that’s my genre: it’s all going to be conceptual from now until I stop making music. Everything has to have a portrayal of some kind of world. It has to be something that is grounded in some kind of idea or a real life event or memory or something. It can’t just be floating around into the ether.”

Tickets for Fatima Al Qadiri’s debut Australian shows are on sale now.
