The unexpected passing of David Bowie early this week has left many of us shaken, including some of us at Banshee HQ who were certain that the Starman would never actually leave us, or at least not like this.

Given Bowie’s incredible influence on the music community there were always going to be a whole lot of artists giving their take on his songs, but it’s hard to imagine anyone doing a better cover of anything than Sarah Blasko‘s powerful rendition of ‘Life on Mars?’ on Triple J’s Like A Version.

Stripped back to just keyboards and Blasko’s inimitable vocals, it gets very emotional very quickly. We weren’t sure how to post about Bowie but Blasko has given us an exceptional tribute.

We’re not crying though…
